Reflective Supervision
February 17, 2023: 9–11am, Delivered by Zoom
Reflective supervision is a collaborative relationship that fosters professional growth to help increase program quality and strengthen the supervisee’s professional practice. Reflective supervision can support those who work with high-needs clients to highlight their strengths and allow them to become more comfortable with their vulnerabilities. Participants will learn a variety of supervisory “spaces” that foster a reflective environment for themselves and the clinicians they supervise. Reflective Supervision helps increase the clinician’s awareness regarding their own emotions, the emotions of their clients, and how this impacts the helping relationship. Reflective supervisors assist supervisees with this increased awareness through the use of reflective activities as well as engaging in their reflective practice.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Learn the basic tenets of reflective supervision.
Learn some basic steps to implementing reflective supervision into their practice.
Learn tangible activities to build reflective capacity in their supervisees.
